Installing the Central Node component with Embedded Sensor on a server

Installing the Central Node component with Embedded Sensor on the server involves the following steps:

  1. Installing the Central Node component with Embedded Sensor

To install the component on the physical server, you need to boot from a disk image with the Central Node and Sensor components.

To install the component on a virtual server, you need to connect the disk image with the Central Node and Sensor components to the selected virtual machine and run it. The installation starts immediately after the virtual machine is turned on. You can manage the installation process using the console of the virtual machine.

  2. Managing application sizing options or adding a monitoring point

If you have installed the component to work in normal mode, at the final stage of cluster deployment, you need to manage the sizing options of the application: specify the planned volume of SPAN traffic, email traffic, the number of hosts with the Endpoint Agent component, as well as the size of the Storage and event database.

Immediately after installing the application, we recommend configuring (enabling or leaving disabled) the mandatory password change after the first successful authentication.

If you have installed the component for retrospective analysis of traffic, you need to add and enable a monitoring point.

If an error occurred while performing the steps of the Setup Wizard, contact Technical Support.
