Enabling the MDR integration

Make sure that an active license key is added and participation in KSN is configured in the application. Otherwise the MDR integration is unavailable.

Recommended way of enabling the integration

Before enabling integration with MDR, make sure that the following external resources are accessible over the network:

• For the Primary Central Node server:
  • https://uis.kaspersky.com (port 443, HTTPS)
  • https://mdr.kaspersky.com (port 443, HTTPS)
• For the Secondary Central Node server:
  • https://mdr.kaspersky.com (port 443, HTTPS).

To enable integration with MDR:

1. Log in to the application web interface with the administrator account.
2. Select the Settings section, KSN/KPSN and MDR subsection.
3. Under MDR integration, click Log in to UIS.
4. In the opened window, enter the Kaspersky Account credentials of a user with the MDR Administrator role in the MDR Console.
5. Click Log in.

   After successful verification of credentials, the following information is displayed:

   • Status.
   • Source of settings.
   • Serial number.
   • Expiration date.
   • Days remaining.

   Integration with MDR is enabled.

When you enable MDR integration, special MDR configuration files are installed for access to KSN. If a configuration file for access to Kaspersky Private Security Network has been installed before, it is replaced with the MDR configuration file. Integration settings configured in the configuration file are applied to all connected Sensor components. MDR starts using alert statistics sent via the KSN stream.

Deprecated way of enabling the integration

We do not recommend using this method of configuring MDR integration because it does not allow sending additional data from alerts on request from Kaspersky SOC as part of the Kaspersky Managed Detection and Response solution and requires uploading and manually updating the configuration file every year.

To enable integration with MDR:

1. Log in to the application web interface with the administrator account.
2. Select the Settings section, KSN/KPSN and MDR subsection.
3. Under MDR integration, click Upload to upload the configuration file.

   This opens the file selection window.

4. Select the archive you downloaded during registration at the MDR portal and click Open.

   The following information about the MDR license is displayed in the window:

   • Serial number.
   • Expiration date.
   • Days remaining.

Integration with MDR is enabled.

Integration settings configured in the configuration file are applied to all connected Sensor components. MDR starts using alert statistics sent via the KSN stream.
