Specifying the limit of the memory usage by application

You can specify the limit of the memory usage by Kaspersky Endpoint Security during virus scan tasks (ODS and OAS types), in megabytes.

Minimum value is 2048 MB.

Default value is 8192 MB.

If the specified value is less than 2048, then the application uses the minimum value (2048).

If the specified value is greater than the amount of RAM, then only up to 40% of RAM can be used. You cannot change this percentage.

To specify the limit of memory usage:

  1. Stop Kaspersky Endpoint Security.
  2. In the /var/opt/kaspersky/kesl/common/kesl.ini file, add the following parameter in the [General] section:

    ScanMemoryLimit=<memory usage limit in megabytes>

  3. Start Kaspersky Endpoint Security.

The memory usage limit changes after the application start.
