Creating a policy

To create a policy:

  1. On the main page of the Kaspersky Security Center Web Console, on the Devices tab, select Policies&Profiles.
  2. Click Add.

    The Select application window opens.

  3. Select Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11 for Linux and click Next.
  4. Read the Kaspersky Security Network Statement and do one of the following:
    • Select I agree to use Kaspersky Security Network to enable Kaspersky Security Network on computers managed by the created policy.
    • Select I do not agree to use Kaspersky Security Network to disable Kaspersky Security Network on computers managed by the created policy.

Refusal to participate in Kaspersky Security Network does not interrupt the policy creation process. You can enable, disable, or change the Kaspersky Security Network mode for managed computers in the policy settings at any time.

  5. Click Next.

The new policy settings window opens with the General tab selected.

  6. On the General tab, you can change the following policy settings:
    • Default policy name.
    • Policy status:
      • Active. At the next synchronization of a computer with Administration Server, the policy will be used as active on the computer.
      • Inactive. Additional policy that is currently not used. If necessary, the inactive policy can be activated.
      • Out-of-office. Policy that becomes active when the computer leaves the corporate network.

The Active status is selected by default.

    • Policy inheritance settings:
      • Inherit settings from parent policy. If this option is enabled, the policy setting values are inherited from the upper-level group policy and, therefore, are locked. This option is enabled by default.
      • Force inheritance of settings in child policies. If this option is enabled, the child policies settings are locked. This option is disabled by default.

For more details about policy settings, refer to Kaspersky Security Center documentation.

  7. On the Application Settings tab, you can change Kaspersky Endpoint Security settings.
  8. Click Save to save the policy.

The policy will appear in the list of policies. You can edit policy settings later. For more detail about policy management, refer to Kaspersky Security Center documentation.
