Get a recovery key for an encrypted disk
Note: Getting a recovery key is not available if you manage Kaspersky Endpoint Security via Kaspersky Security Center Cloud Console.
If a user of a client computer forgets or loses his or her credentials and cannot access an encrypted disk, you can get a recovery key.
Get a recovery key
- Click the Web Console administrator account name in the upper right corner of the Kaspersky Security Center Web Console window.
- Choose Interface options.
- In the dialog that opens, turn on the Show Data encryption and protection toggle switch to enable managing data encryption and click Save.
- Choose OPERATIONS > DATA ENCRYPTION AND PROTECTION > ENCRYPTED DEVICES.
The list of encrypted devices opens.
- Select the check box next to the device with the encrypted disk.
- Click Grant access to the device in offline mode.
- In the Grant access to the device in offline mode dialog, select the web plug-in for Kaspersky Endpoint Security and click OK.
- Click Get recovery key.
A recovery key appears in the current dialog window.
- Save the recovery key in any convenient way.
You can use this recovery key on a client computer to access the encrypted disk.
