Kaspersky Endpoint Security allows limiting unwanted actions on users' devices by setting an administrator password.
If Password protection is enabled, Kaspersky Endpoint Security requires a password upon attempts to do any of the following:
Configure application settings
Exit the application
Remove the license key
Remove the application
Note: Password protection restricts removal of Kaspersky Endpoint Security only when performed via the uninstaller.
Restore quarantined files from Backup
View reports.
Disabling Password protection does not disable the policy settings. If editing a setting is prohibited in the policy, it cannot be edited even if Password protection is disabled.
In the main window of the Web Console, select Devices > Policies and profiles.
Click the name of the Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Mac policy.
The policy properties window opens.
Select the Application settings tab.
Select Additional Settings > User interaction.
Turn on the Password protection toggle switch.
In the Password protection settings dialog that opens, configure the following settings:
Enter the password in the Password field and enter it a second time in the Confirm password field. By default, the password characters are hidden for security reasons. To view the password, click Show.
In the Require password to section, select the required checkboxes to protect the corresponding actions on the user's device.
Click OK to close the Password protection settings dialog.
In the menu bar, click the application icon and choose Settings.
The application settings window opens.
On the Interface tab, in the Password protection section, select the Enable password protection checkbox.
In the window that opens, configure the following settings:
Enter the password in the Password field and enter it a second time in the Confirm password field.
In the Require password to section, select the required checkboxes to protect the corresponding actions on the user's device.
Click OK.
Note: If you select Change application settings as a password protected action, you need to enter the password twice in order to change the Password protection settings.
