Export and import of registry access monitoring rules

You can export registry access monitoring rules created manually in the properties of the Registry Access Monitor task to an XML file.

You can import registry access monitoring rules that were previously exported to an XML file into the properties of the Registry Access Monitor task.

To export and import registry access monitoring rules using the Application Console:

1. In the Application Console tree, expand the System Inspection node.
2. Select the Registry Access Monitor child node.
3. Click the Registry Access Monitor link in the results pane of the Registry Access Monitoring Rules node.

   The Registry Access Monitoring window appears.

4. How to export registry access monitoring rules.
   1. In the Registry access monitoring rules block, click the Export to file button to export the registry access monitoring rules.

      The standard Microsoft Windows Save as window opens.

   2. Specify the path to save the XML file with the settings of the registry access monitoring rules.
   3. Enter the file name in the corresponding field.
   4. Click the Save button.

      The application will save an XML file with the settings of the registry access monitoring rules in the specified path.

5. How to import registry access monitoring rules.
   1. In the Registry access monitoring rules block, click the Import button.
   2. In the context menu of the Import button, select one of the values:
      • Merge with existing rules, if you want to add the imported rules to the list of existing rules.

        If the registry branch name in the imported rule matches the registry branch name of an existing rule, the imported rule will not be added even if the values of the settings for this registry branch differ in the rules.

      • Add to existing rules, if you want to add the imported rules to the list of existing rules. Rules with identical settings are duplicated.
      • Replace existing rules, if you want to replace the existing rules with the imported rules.

      The standard Microsoft Windows Open window opens.

   3. Specify the path to the XML file with the settings of the registry access monitoring rules.
   4. Click the Open button.

   The imported rules will be displayed in the Registry Access Monitoring block of the Registry access monitoring rules window.

6. Click the Save button to save the changes.
