Enabling and disabling Self-Defense
Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security prevents alteration or deletion of application files on the hard drive, memory processes, and entries in the system registry.
The technology blocks access to the following application components:
files in the Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security installation folder and other files of the application; registry keys with records belonging to the application; processes that the application runs. The Self-Defense mechanisms of Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security are enabled by default.
How to enable or disable Self-Defense in the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console
In the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console tree, select the Policies folder. Select the necessary policy and double-click to open the policy properties. In the policy properties window, go to the Application settings section. In the Security and reliability block, click the Settings button. This opens a window; in that window, select the Security tab. In the Self-Defense block, use the Protect application processes from external threats check box to enable or disable Self-Defense. In the Application Console tree, select the Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security node and in the results pane, follow the Application properties link. This opens a window; in that window, select the Security settings tab. In the Self-Defense block, use the Protect application processes from external threats check box to enable or disable Self-Defense. Click OK to save the changes. In the main window of the Web Console, select Assets (Devices) → Policies & profiles . Click the name of the Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security policy.The policy properties window opens.
Select the Application settings tab. Select the Application Settings section. In the Security and reliability block, click the Configure button.The Security and reliability window opens.
In the Self-Defense block, use the Protect application processes from external threats check box to enable or disable Self-Defense. Close the padlock to apply the policy to computers. Click OK to save the changes.
