Limitations on outdated Windows versions

• Windows XP SP2 version do not allow to block remote devices and configure the List of blocked network sessions settings. In this Windows version, the Block access to network shared resources for the sessions that show malicious activity option is inactive.
• Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security installation:
  • On computers running Windows XP SP2 Professional (32-bit / 64-bit), Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2 you should use the application distribution kit or place the setup.exe executable file from the standard installation package “Kaspersky Security Center 10.5 Network Agent for Windows XP” into the application installation package folder in Kaspersky Security Center .
  • On computers running Windows XP SP3 Professional (32-bit) and Windows XP Embedded SP3 (32-bit), it is necessary to use the application distribution kit or place the setup.exe executable file from the application installation package created in Kaspersky Security Center version 14 or from the standard installation package “Kaspersky Security Center 14 Network Agent for Windows XP” into the application installation package folder in Kaspersky Security Center.

  How to extract setup.exe file from the standard Kaspersky Security Center installation package

  1. In the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console tree, select Advanced → Remote installation → Installation packages.
  2. In the workspace click Additional actions and select View current versions of Kaspersky applications from the drop-down list.
  3. Select the necessary application from the list. For example, Kaspersky Security Center 10.5 Network Agent for Windows XP.
  4. Click the Download and create installation package button.

     The created installation package will be displayed in the Installation packages list.

  5. Open the properties of the created installation package.
  6. In the General section, copy the path to the installation package folder.
  7. Open the installation package folder.
  8. Copy setup.exe file.
• To manage Kaspersky Embedded Systems Security via Kaspersky Security Center:
  • on a computer running Windows XP SP2 Professional (32-bit/64-bit), Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2003 R2, you must use Kaspersky Security Center Network Agent (klnagent) version 10.5.1781.
  • on a computer running Windows XP SP3 Professional (32-bit) and Windows XP Embedded SP3 (32-bit), you must use Kaspersky Security Center Network Agent (klnagent) version 14.0.0.20023.
• On Windows XP computers, telemetry cannot be sent to a data diode using the MQTT protocol.
