When performing a full scan, custom scan, critical areas scan, scan from context menu or background scan, Kaspersky Endpoint Security does not scan files whose contents are located in OneDrive cloud storage, and generates a record in the log, that those files were not scanned.
To find viruses and other types of malware and check the integrity of application modules, Kaspersky Endpoint Security includes the following tasks:
Full Scan
A thorough scan of the entire computer. By default, Kaspersky Endpoint Security scans the following objects:
To conserve computer resources, it is recommended to run a background scan task instead of a full scan task. This will not affect the security level.
Critical Areas Scan
By default, Kaspersky Endpoint Security scans the kernel memory, running processes, and disk boot sectors.
The Full Scan and Critical Areas Scan tasks are somewhat different than the others. For these tasks, it is not recommended to edit the scan scope.
Custom Scan
Kaspersky Endpoint Security scans the objects that are selected by the user. You can scan any object from the following list:
Background scan
Kaspersky Endpoint Security scans startup objects, kernel memory, and the system partition. Background scans conserve computer resources. Kaspersky Endpoint Security does not display notifications when a background scan is started.
Integrity check
Kaspersky Endpoint Security checks the application modules for corruption or modifications.
After scan tasks start, the task completion progress is displayed under the name of the running scan task in the Tasks window. Information on the scan results and events that have occurred during the performance of scan tasks is logged in a Kaspersky Endpoint Security report.
