Special aspects of Password protection permissions
Password protection permissions have some important aspects and limitations to consider.
Configure application settings
- If a user's computer is running under a policy, make sure that all the required settings in the policy are available for editing (the attributes are open).
- To disable protection and control components in the application settings, a user must have the Disable protection components and Disable control components permissions.
- To configure the application settings from the command line, disable the Configure application settings permission for the Everyone group. To allow users other than KLAdmin to configure application settings, add a user or a group that has the Configure application settings permission in the password protection settings.
Exit the application
To exit the application from the context menu (by using the Exit menu item) or from the command line, disable the Exit the application permission for the Everyone group. To allow users other than KLAdmin to exit the application, add a user or a group that has the Exit the application permission in the password protection settings.

To disable a Kaspersky Security Center policy from the context menu (by using the Disable policy menu item), or from the command line, disable the Disable Kaspersky Security Center policy permission for the Everyone group. To allow users other than KLAdmin to configure application settings, add a user or a group that has the Disable Kaspersky Security Center policy permission in the password protection settings.
Remove key
To remove a license key from the command line, disable the Remove key permission for the Everyone group. To allow users other than KLAdmin to remove a license key, add a user or a group that has the Remove key permission in the password protection settings.
Remove / modify / restore the application
You can remove, modify, or restore the application only if you are logged in as KLAdmin. Permission to perform these actions cannot be granted to any other user.
Restore access to data on encrypted drives
You can restore access to data on encrypted drives only if you are logged in as KLAdmin. Permission to perform this action cannot be granted to any other user.
View reports
There are no special considerations or limitations.
Restore from Backup
To restore files from Backup from the command line, disable the Restore from Backup permission for the Everyone group. To allow users other than KLAdmin to restore from Backup, add a user or a group that has the Restore from Backup permission in the password protection settings.
