Kaspersky Sandbox

Kaspersky Sandbox is a solution for detecting and blocking sophisticated threats. Virtual images of operating systems are deployed on Kaspersky Sandbox servers, and scanned objects are executed within these operating systems. Kaspersky Sandbox analyzes the behavior of these objects to identify malicious activity and signs of targeted attacks.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security uses Kaspersky Sandbox technology to scan only executable files (for example, EXE) and Microsoft Office files (DOC, DOCX, XLS, PPT, and others).

Integration with Kaspersky Sandbox

An application named Kaspersky Endpoint Agent is designed to support interaction with Kaspersky Sandbox. Kaspersky Endpoint Agent is included in the Kaspersky Endpoint Security distribution kit. You can install Kaspersky Endpoint Agent during installation of Kaspersky Endpoint Security. To do so, select the Endpoint Agent component during installation of the application (for example, in the installation package). After installing the application with Endpoint Agent, two applications will be added to the list of installed applications: Kaspersky Endpoint Security and Kaspersky Endpoint Agent. For details about the software and hardware requirements of Kaspersky Endpoint Agent, please refer to the Kaspersky Sandbox Help Guide.

When Kaspersky Endpoint Security with an installed Endpoint Sensor component is upgraded to version 11.2.0, Kaspersky Endpoint Agent will be automatically installed. If you used Kaspersky Endpoint Security without the Endpoint Sensor component, Kaspersky Endpoint Agent will not be installed.

Kaspersky Endpoint Agent will be automatically removed when uninstalling Kaspersky Endpoint Security if the Endpoint Sensor component is enabled in the Kaspersky Endpoint Security settings.

Kaspersky Endpoint Agent can be installed using other deployment tools. When deploying Kaspersky Endpoint Agent as part of Kaspersky Endpoint Security, the application will be reinstalled.

Managing Kaspersky Endpoint Agent

Kaspersky Endpoint Agent does not have a local interface. You can configure the application only via Kaspersky Security Center. To do so, install the Kaspersky Endpoint Agent administration plug-in. You can install the Kaspersky Endpoint Agent administration plug-in together with the Kaspersky Sandbox administration plug-in.

For detailed information about Kaspersky Endpoint Agent, please refer to the Kaspersky Sandbox Help Guide.
