Enabling and disabling external management defense
Kaspersky Endpoint Security uses the following external management defense mechanisms:
Protection against modification of Kaspersky Endpoint Security settings using remote administration applications (such as TeamViewer or RemotelyAnywhere).
Protection against external management of Kaspersky Endpoint Security services (such as the AVP service).
To enable or disable external management defense:
In the lower part of the main application window, click the button.
In the application settings window, select the General section.
Use the Allow managing Kaspersky Endpoint Security settings via remote control applications check box to enable or disable protection against modifications of Kaspersky Endpoint Security settings. If you use remote administration applications, you should allow management of Kaspersky Endpoint Security settings and add the applications to the trusted list. Untrusted remote administration applications are not allowed to modify Kaspersky Endpoint Security settings even when the Allow managing Kaspersky Endpoint Security settings via remote control applications check box is selected. This check box is unavailable when the Enable Self-Defense check box is selected.
Use the Enable external service control check box to enable or disable the protection of Kaspersky Endpoint Security services against external management.
To quit the application from the command line, disable the protection of Kaspersky Endpoint Security services against external management.
Save your changes.
As a result, when external management defense mechanisms are enabled, Kaspersky Endpoint Security prevents the mouse pointer from getting pointed at the application icon. When a remote user attempts to shut down an application service, a system window with an error message appears.
