Contents and storage of dump files

Dump files are automatically generated when the application operation failures occur and are stored on the computer as long as the application is in use. If necessary, you can disable the creation of dump files.

Dump files are stored in the /var/opt/kaspersky/kics/common/dumps and /var/opt/kaspersky/kics/common/dumps-user directories and are permanently deleted when the application is uninstalled.

A dump file contains all information about the working memory of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Linux Nodes processes at the moment when the dump file was created. Root privileges are required to access dump files.

Saved dump files may contain personal data. It is recommended to protect information from unauthorized access before sending it to Kaspersky.

To disable the creation of dump files:

  1. Stop Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Linux Nodes.
  2. Open the /var/opt/kaspersky/kics/common/kics.ini file for editing.
  3. Add the following parameter to the [General] section:

    CoreDumps=no

  4. Start Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Linux Nodes.
