Updating Portable Scanner databases

To update the Portable Scanner anti-virus databases:

1. Download the updated application databases in one of the following ways:
   
   • Update databases using the repositories of distribution points.

     On a device with Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes installed, create or configure the existing Database Update task for a device or a group of devices. Start the task.
     

     The version of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes installed on the device must match or be higher than the version of Kaspersky Industrial CyberSecurity for Nodes that was used to create the Portable Scanner. Otherwise, the updated application databases may not contain certain files required for the Portable Scanner to run properly.

   • Updating databases via the Kaspersky Updater Utility (KUU).

     Download the latest databases to a folder on the device using the Kaspersky Updater Utility.

2. Once the databases have been loaded, connect the removable drive containing the Portable Scanner to the device with the up-to-date databases.
3. Run kavscan.exe update /source=<full path to folder with up-to-date databases>, where <full path to folder with up-to-date databases> is the distribution point repository or local folder with downloaded application databases, depending on the option selected in step 1.

   The Portable Scanner will update the application databases located in the Bases folder and then run a database integrity check. The results of this check will be displayed as a message in the command-line interface.
