Editing the settings of a process control device or tag

To change the settings of a process control device or tag:

  1. Select the Process control tab in the Console window.
  2. In the tree of devices and tags, select the element whose settings you want to change.
  3. Click Edit in the lower-right corner of the tab.
  4. If a tag is selected, you will be prompted to continue. If this is the case, confirm that you want to modify tag settings.

    The device editor or tag editor appears in the lower part of the screen.

  5. When configuring the settings for a device:
    1. Enter the device name.
    2. Specify one or multiple protocols used for communication with the device.
    3. Define the settings of one or multiple addresses for communication with the device.
    4. If necessary, edit the settings for monitoring system commands for a device.
  6. When configuring the settings for a tag:
    1. Specify the required settings whose names are distinguished by font (for example, the tag name and data type).
    2. If necessary, specify the other settings that are available for the tag depending on the protocol and the selected data type (for example, the unit of measurement and scaling limits).
  7. Save changes by clicking the OK button.
