Restrict a child’s or teenager’s social network contacts and messaging

Controlling children’s and teenagers’ contacts and messaging on social networks, such as Facebook, helps prevent them from contacting strangers who may pose as their peers to extract personal data. If you want to restrict social network contacts and messaging, you can use the Social Networks category of Parental Control.

Important: If you have installed the application version intended for use in the European Union, you will have to accept the Statement regarding data processing for Parental Control before you can enable Parental Control. The statement is displayed when you attempt to enable Parental Control for the first user account on your Mac.

If messaging with a contact is prohibited, Parental Control blocks all messages sent to or received from that contact.
