About the license

A license is a right to use the application, granted under the terms of the End User License Agreement.

A license entitles you to:

A license is valid for a limited period. The license period starts from the date when you activate the application or when you buy the license. If you purchased a license that allows using Kaspersky Internet Security on several devices, the license period starts when you first apply the activation code.

When the license expires, you may be given a grace period to renew the license. The application remains functional during the grace period. When the license expires and the grace period is over, the application continues to operate with limited functionality (for example, updates and Kaspersky Security Network become unavailable). You can still use some of application components and run virus scans, but only with the anti-virus databases that were installed before the grace period ended. To continue using the full functionality of Kaspersky Internet Security, you have to renew the license.

We recommend that you renew your license on or before the day it expires to ensure maximum protection against security threats.

Before buying a license, you can test a trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security free of charge. The trial version of Kaspersky Internet Security remains functional for a short period. When the trial license expires, you may be given a grace period, during which the application remains functional. When the grace period is over, all Kaspersky Internet Security features are disabled. To continue using the application, you have to buy a license.

Important: Kaspersky Internet Security always checks for critical updates required to operate the application, regardless of the license status (active, expired, or absent).
