Before using Privacy Protection, read the following limitations:
Google account synchronization
When Privacy Protection is on, the contacts sync in the Google account must be turned off. This allows the app to hide selected contacts.
If the sync is on, hidden contacts will be re-added to your Contacts from the Google account. If you turn off Privacy Protection, these contacts will be duplicated.
Recommended action:
Before turning on Privacy Protection, manually turn off the contacts sync in the Google account settings.
If you don’t want to use Privacy Protection anymore, after turning it off, manually turn on contacts sync in the Google account settings.
While using Privacy Protection, all data sync in the Google account is turned off automatically. You don’t need to do anything.
Uninstalling Kaspersky Internet Security
Before uninstalling Kaspersky Internet Security, make sure Privacy Protection is turned off. Otherwise, all hidden contacts might be deleted.
If you are uninstalling Kaspersky Internet Security in the app settings, Privacy Protection is turned off automatically. If you are uninstalling Kaspersky Internet Security in the device settings, manually turn off Privacy Protection.
Limitations for hiding SMS
Due to the technical limitations for Android 4.4 and newer, Privacy Protection might not hide SMS from hidden contacts in some messaging apps.
