How to specify an allowed area on the map
You can set allowed areas on the map and the times during which your child is allowed to be in these areas. For example, the child must be at school during the day and at home in the evening. You will receive a notification when the child leaves the allowed area if the child is not allowed to leave at that time.
Notifications informing you of departure from the allowed area can be sent only if a child's device is connected to the Internet and location services are enabled on the device.
To specify an allowed area:
- Go to the Kids tab.
- Select the profile of the child.
- Go to the Where is my child? subsection.
- Click the Settings button.
- Make sure that the Location monitoring toggle switch is on. If the toggle switch is off, flip it on.
- In the Allowed area section, click the Add allowed area link.
This opens a map showing the default allowed area. The default allowed area is highlighted in green.
- Set the allowed area:
- If you want to move the allowed area, drag the map or click anywhere on the map.
- If you want to resize the allowed area, drag the slider (
) icon.
You can use the address search in the Search entry field in the upper part of the map to go to the relevant map sector.
- Click Next.
- Select a device of the child.
- Click Next.
- Click the Add time interval link.
- Set a schedule for the allowed area: select the days when the allowed area is active and set the start and end time for the allowed area.
You can add several time intervals.
- Click the Done button.
A description of the allowed area settings appears in the Existing allowed areas section. You receive an alert when the child leaves the safe area during the specified period.
