If your mobile device is lost or stolen, you can lock the device and try to locate it. If it is impossible to retrieve the device, you can delete all data from it. You can remotely manage the device by sending commands to the device from My Kaspersky.
Remote management of a lost or stolen device via My Kaspersky is supported only for mobile devices running the Kaspersky app for Android. To protect your device, you first need to set up the Where Is My Device feature in the app. To receive a command on a mobile device, the device must be turned on and connected to the Internet. In Kaspersky app for Android versions 11.80.X.XXX and earlier, Where Is My Device was called Anti-Theft.
To send a command to your mobile device:
The window for managing the mobile device opens.
The command's status and results of the command execution are displayed in the Where Is My Device tab when the command is executed and the device appears online. We will also send an email notification with the command result to your My Kaspersky account email address.
You can send the following commands to the mobile device:
This command locks the mobile device and locates it using GPS and GSM. The location of the mobile device is displayed on the map in the results section. The location coordinates are sent to your My Kaspersky account email address. You can also specify text to be displayed on the screen of the locked mobile device.
This command locks your mobile device and sounds an alarm on the device, even when the device is muted. You can also specify text to be displayed on the screen of the locked mobile device.
This command lets you lock your mobile device and take a mugshot of the person currently using it. You can take mugshots only on mobile devices that have a front camera. This command cannot be executed on devices without a front camera. You can also specify text to be displayed on the screen of the locked mobile device. Mugshots and associated information will appear in the Mugshot section.
Mugshots cannot be taken in Germany due to local legislation. The device can only be locked.
This command wipes all data stored on your mobile device. The mobile device is reset to its factory settings.
If you send the Wipe All Data command to a mobile device, the Kaspersky app for Android will also be deleted after the command is executed. The mobile device will not be able to receive any further remote commands.
