The security of your data largely depends on the strength of your password. A password is considered strong if it contains at least eight characters, including uppercase and lowercase Latin letters, digits, and special characters. Kaspersky Password Manager generates unique and strong passwords. You can specify the password length and choose whether to include digits and special characters. You can use Password Generator when you create a new website account or change your password for an existing account.
Open the Password Generator window in one of the following ways:
Click the application icon in the menu bar and choose Generate Password.
In the browser toolbar, click > > Generate Strong Password.
The Password Generator window opens, and the application generates a password using the default parameters.
If needed, change the parameters of the generated password:
In the Password length pop-up menu, specify the number of characters to be used when generating passwords.
The default password length is 12 characters.
If you want Kaspersky Password Manager to generate a password with uppercase letters, select the Uppercase letters (A–Z) checkbox.
This checkbox is selected by default.
If you want Kaspersky Password Manager to generate a password with lowercase letters, select the Lowercase letters (a–z) checkbox.
This checkbox is selected by default.
If you want Kaspersky Password Manager to generate a password with digits, select the Digits (0–9) checkbox.
This checkbox is selected by default.
If you want Kaspersky Password Manager to generate a password with special characters, select the checkbox next to the list of special characters.
This checkbox is selected by default.
If needed, edit the list of special characters.
The application automatically generates new passwords when the parameters are changed.
If you want to generate another password using the specified parameters, click .
Click Copy to copy the generated password to the clipboard.
The application copies the generated password to the clipboard.
You can manually paste the password into the required field. If you use Password Generator to create a new website account or change your password for an existing account, the application automatically pastes the password into the required field.
Kaspersky Password Manager saves the last 5 generated passwords copied to the clipboard, in case you forget them. You can view your copied passwords in the Password Generator history. The application stores copied passwords on your computer and doesn't sync them across devices.
If your vault is locked, the Password Generator is unavailable.
Open the Password Generator window in one of the following ways:
Click the application icon in the menu bar and choose Generate Password.
In the browser toolbar, click > > Generate Strong Password.
The Password Generator window opens, and the application generates a password using the default parameters.
Click Recents.
A list of your most recently copied passwords opens. For each password, you can view the date and time when it was copied to the Clipboard for the first time.
If you want to copy a password to the clipboard, click Copy next to the password.
The password is copied to the clipboard.
If you want to clear the Password Generator history, click Clear All.
Your copied passwords are deleted from the history.
