Create a master password
Kaspersky Password Manager uses the master password to protect your data. When you start Kaspersky Password Manager for the first time, you must create a master password. Don't use a password that can be easily guessed (for example, based on last names, first names, or dates of birth). To create a strong password, use uppercase and lowercase letters, digits, and special characters.
Important: You can't access your vault without the master password. If you lose the master password, you will also lose access to all your data in the vault.
When Kaspersky Password Manager starts, it prompts you to:
- Create a master password for the vault, if it is the first time you have used Kaspersky Password Manager.
- Enter the existing master password, if you have previously created a master password and used Kaspersky Password Manager.
You can change the master password at any time.
- In the Master Password window, enter a new master password.
- Confirm the new master password by entering it a second time and click Continue.
- In the dialog window that opens, confirm the creation of a new vault by clicking Continue.
If your device supports Touch ID, you can enable it when creating a master password and then use it to unlock the vault.
