Locking the vault automatically

Kaspersky Password Manager automatically locks the vault if the device has been idle for a certain period of time. You can specify the time period after which the vault will be locked automatically, or disable automatic locking of the vault. The value of this interval varies between 1 and 60 minutes. By default, the vault is locked after the device has been idle for 60 minutes.

If automatic device locking is disabled, your personal data will not be protected when you leave the device unattended, unless you manually lock the vault or your device. You are advised to enable automatic locking if the device is shared by several users.

If necessary, you can configure automatic notifications about locking the vault. When a browser switches to a website containing fields for entering a login and password, Kaspersky Password Manager reminds you that the vault is locked. You must unlock the vault to automatically log in to the website.

To define the conditions for automatic vault blocking, follow these steps:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the lower part of the window, click the button.
  3. In the application tray menu, select the Settings item.

    The application settings window opens.

  4. In the left part of the window, select the General section.
  5. In the Security section, set up the conditions for automatic vault blocking:
    • If you want to block the vault when the station is inactive, select the inactivity period in the Autolock window.
    • If you want to block the vault when the screensaver turns on, select On screensaver activation in the Autolock window.
    • If you want to turn off the automatic vault blocking, select Never in the Autolock window.
  6. If you want to see automatic notifications about locking the vault, select the Prompt to unlock vault if a website has login and password entry fields check box.
