Changing the master password

The master password cannot be changed in the following cases:

If you have changed the master password on one of the devices, Kaspersky Password Manager prompts you to enter the new master password to synchronize data on other devices.

To change the master password:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the lower part of the window, click the button.
  3. In the application tray menu, select the Settings item.
  4. The application settings window opens.
  5. In the left part of the window, select the General section.
  6. In the right part of the window, click the Change master password button.
  7. In the upper part of the Master password window that appears, in the Current master password field, enter the current master password.
  8. In the New master password field, enter the new master password.

    Kaspersky Password Manager automatically tests the strength of your password and displays its strength level next to the New master password field.

  9. In the Confirm master password field, enter the new master password again.
  10. Click OK.

The master password has been changed successfully.
