Import and export data
You can import data to Kaspersky Password Manager from:
- A backup copy of your vault or a vault created from a previous version of Kaspersky Password Manager
- Your browsers' built-in password managers
- Other password managers
Import data from a backup copy of your vault or a vault created from a previous version of Kaspersky Password Manager
- Open the main application window.
- In the left menu panel, click .
The application settings open.
- Select the Import/Export section.
- In the Import from vault section, click Import.
- In the window that opens, specify the file you want to import your data from.
- Click Open.
- In the window that opens, enter the master password to access the contents of the file being imported.
- Click OK.
Data from the selected file will be copied to your vault. When the import is completed, the application displays a report about the imported data.
Import data from your browsers' built-in password managers
- Open the main application window.
- In the left menu panel, click .
The application settings open.
- Select the Import/Export section.
- In the Import from browsers section, select the browser you want to import data from.
- Click Import.
All credentials saved in the selected browser’s built-in password manager will be copied to your vault. When the import is completed, the application displays a report about the imported data.
Import data from other password managers
- Open the main application window.
- In the left menu panel, click .
The application settings open.
- Select Import/Export section.
- In the Import from password managers section, click Import.
- In the window that opens, specify the CSV file you want to import data from.
Kaspersky Password Manager can import files exported to CSV files from KeePass, LastPass, 1Password, Norton Identity Safe, or Dashlane.
- Click Open.
Data will be copied from the selected file to your vault. When the import is completed, the application displays a report about the imported data.
Kaspersky Password Manager cannot ensure the integrity and completeness of data imported from other password management applications.
If you use the free version of Kaspersky Password Manager and import more entries than allowed in the free version, these entries will be inactive after they are imported.
You can export your notes and credentials from the vault to a text file and then print them.
Export data for printing
- Open the main application window.
- In the left menu panel, click .
The application settings open.
- Select the Import/Export section.
- In the Export to text file section, click Export.
- In the window that opens, specify the file name and folder you want to save the file.
- Click OK.
The application will copy your notes and credentials to a TXT file.
Kaspersky Password Manager doesn't protect the TXT file with the exported data. You must protect the exported data on your own.
