Searching for policies associated with a specific user

The application lets you retrieve a list of policies whose scope includes a specific user. This list contains information about which policies are applied to outgoing messages of this user and which actions are performed by the application on these messages pursuant to these policies. This information can be helpful when you need to analyze policy settings or bring them into conformity with the requirements of the corporate security policy.

To search for policies associated with specific users:

  1. In the Management Console tree, select the Categories and policies node.
  2. In the Policies search section, click the Select button, select an Active Directory user, and click OK.

The table in the lower part of the section displays a list of policies whose scope includes the selected user. On receiving messages from this user, the DLP Module applies the enumerated policies to these messages, provided that the policies are active.

The table show the following policy details:

    • Policy name.
    • Name of the category based on which the policy has been created.
    • Action taken on messages that violate the policy:
      • Delete. The application deletes messages violating the policy.
      • Skip. The application skips messages violating the policy.
      • Inactive. The policy is inactive. The application does not apply the policy to messages.

You can restart the search and refresh the content of the list by clicking the Refresh button. You may need to refresh the list in order to reflect the changes made to policies by other Security Officers.
