Enabling and disabling Self-Defense

The Self-Defense mechanism of Kaspersky Endpoint Agent provides protection from malware that tries to lock the application or delete it. The Self-Defense mechanism prevents alteration or deletion of application files on the hard drive, memory processes, and entries in the system registry.

To enable or disable Self-Defense:

  1. Open the Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console.
  2. In the console tree, select the Policies folder.
  3. Select the necessary policy and double-click it to open its properties.
  4. Under Application settings, select Security settings.
  5. Under Self-defense, either:
    • Select the Enable self-defense for application modules in memory check box if you want to enable the Self-Defense mechanism, or
    • Clear the Enable self-defense for application modules in memory check box if you want to disable the Self-Defense mechanism.
  6. In the upper right corner of the settings group, move the toggle switch from Unaffected by policy to Under policy.
  7. Click OK.

The Self-Defense mechanism is enabled or disabled.
