About information provision
Kaspersky Safe Browser complies with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
To install the app, the user must accept the terms of the End User License Agreement. In addition, the Installation Wizard will prompt the user to accept the following Statements regarding the processing of the user's personal data:
- Kaspersky Security Network Statement
- Statement regarding data processing for marketing purposes
- The user may accept the terms of a Statement or decline them at any time in the About the app section in the settings of Kaspersky Safe Browser.
Information provision under the End User License Agreement
The Rightholder has to verify that the license You will use is legal during activation and use of the Software. To do so, the Rightholder has to process and receive the following information about the Software, the license You have acquired, and the Computer where You will install the Software, specifically: type, version, and localization of the installed Software, versions of the installed updates, identifier of the Computer and identifier of the Software installation on the Computer, activation code and unique identifier of activation of the current license, type, version, and word size of the operating system, name of the virtual environment if the Software is installed in a virtual environment, and identifiers of the Software components that are active at the time the information is provided.
To provide this core functionality, while You are using the Software the Rightholder has to receive from Your Computer and process information about the Software installed, license acquired, objects scanned, threats and infections detected on the Computer, as well as information about the Computer and the Computer’s activity on the internet, specifically:
- URL and IP address of the page, port number, identifier of the URL protocol, URL, which refers to the requested information
- type, version, and localization of the Software installed
- identifier of the Computer, identifier of the Software installation on the Computer, and identifier of the update task
- information about the HTTPS certificate of the visited page (certificate hash sum, certificate type, certificate serial number, and certificate contents)
- unique activation ID of the current license
- identifier of the Agreement or statement that contains the description of data processing, the identifier of the version of such Agreement or statement, flag indicating whether the agreement or statement was accepted or declined, time when such agreement or statement was accepted or declined
Information provision under the Kaspersky Security Network Statement
Use of the KSN could lead to increase the effectiveness of protection provided by the Software, against information and network security threats.
Certain data which is processed under this KSN Statement could be considered personal data according to laws of some countries. With Your consent, the following data will be automatically sent on a regular basis to the Rightholder under this KSN Statement:
- Data on the software and hardware configuration of the mobile device (OS type and version, model name ID, device ID, firmware ID, manufacturer name)
- Information about the user’s obtaining jailbreak privileges
- Statistical data on detected adware and riskware (web address of the page from which the transition was made to load the object, size, name, and checksum (MD5) of the executable file that sent the request to the website, web address of the link source from the HTTP request, IP address of the server to which the connection was established, version of the operating system on the server)
- Software information: version, type, software ID, installation ID
- Service information (constant, version, and service name)
- Information about the quality of KSN services:
- KSN service identifier
- Statistics for successful packets
- Statistics for unsuccessful packets
- Statistics for packet time
- Statistics for packet number
- Number of connections from cache
- Number of successful connections
- Number of unsuccessful connections
- Number of successful transactions
- Number of unsuccessful transactions
- Time distribution of successful connections
- Time distribution of unsuccessful connections
- Time distribution of successful transactions
- Time distribution of unsuccessful transactions
- Service request identifier
- Number of service requests
- Number of service requests from cache
- Number of requests canceled because of network problems
- Number of requests canceled because of inactive service
- Number of requests canceled because of an invalid path
- Time distribution of successful requests
- Time distribution of canceled requests
- Time distribution of requests that timed out
- Time histogram
Information provision under the Statement regarding data processing for marketing purposes
The Rightholder uses third-party information systems to process data. Their data processing is governed by the Privacy Statements of such third-party information systems. The Rightholder uses Google Analytics to process the data listed below.
During the use of the Software, the following data will be sent to Google Analytics automatically and on a regular basis in order to achieve the declared purpose:
- Software info (software version, software ID, and ID of the software in the Google Analytics service)
- ID of the software installation on the device
- Region and language localization
- Device screen resolution
- Navigation between software icons, duration of the session, start and end of the session, and name of the screen
- Protocol used to submit data to the Google Analytics service, its version, and ID of the data submission method used
- Details on the type and parameters of the event for which data is submitted
Data is forwarded to Google Analytics over a secure channel. Information about how data is processed in Google Analytics is published at www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.
