Configuring a secure connection for website categories

By default, Kaspersky Secure Connection does not establish a secure connection when you open websites in a browser. You can configure activation of a secure connection for different website categories if Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Total Security is installed and activated on your computer. For example, you can specify that a secure connection must be enabled when you visit websites of payment systems or social networks.

To configure a secure connection for website categories:

  1. Open the main application window.
  2. In the main application window, click the buttonVPN Menu.
  3. Select the Settings item in the drop-down menu.

    The Settings window opens.

  4. Click the Advanced settings button.

    The Advanced settings window opens.

  5. In the Enable secure connection when browsing the following categories of websites section, select a website category:
    • Banks and payment systems. This category includes websites of banks and payment systems.
    • Social networks. This category includes forums, chat sites, and social networks.
    • Booking systems. This category includes hotel booking and car rental websites.
    • Online stores and electronic commerce websites. This category includes websites on which you can make online purchases.
  6. Select an action for each website category:
    • Prompt to enable secure connection. Kaspersky Secure Connection will prompt you to establish a secure connection when visiting the selected category of websites.
    • Enable secure connection automatically. Kaspersky Secure Connection will automatically enable a secure connection when you visit the selected category of websites.
    • Ignore. Kaspersky Secure Connection will not perform any actions when you visit the selected category of websites.
  7. If you selected the Prompt to enable secure connection or Enable secure connection automatically option, in the Choose location drop-down list, select the country through which you want to establish a secure connection for this category of websites.
  8. Select the Notify when enabled check box if you want to receive notifications about a secure connection being enabled when you visit this category of websites.

By default, Kaspersky Secure Connection does not prompt you to enable a secure connection if the HTTPS protocol is used to connect to a website.
