The Split Tunneling window opens. By default, all applications connect to the Internet over a VPN connection.
Switch the toggle to the On position.
Select one of the two options:
Do not use VPN. Click the Select button to select the applications that will not connect to the Internet over the VPN connection. This configuration will also be applied to applications that are already running. If you indicated that a running application should not connect over a VPN connection, VPN for this application will be terminated but the application will continue to work over an unsecured connection.
Use VPN. Click the Select button to select the applications that will connect to the Internet over the VPN connection. If you select this option, applications not in this list will not connect to the Internet using VPN. For running applications from this list VPN connection will be re-established. While VPN connection is being re-established, data is transferred via insecure connection, even if the Kill Switch function is enabled.
Select the check boxes next to the relevant applications. If you want the list to also display all running processes, select the Show all processes check box.
If the application you need is not in the list, click the Find application link to open an Explorer window.
In the File name field, specify the path to the executable file of the application and click Open.
The application will appear in the window showing the applications that can be configured for a VPN connection.
Click the Add button.
The selected applications will be added to the Split Tunneling window.
Click Apply.
You can enable and disable use of a VPN connection individually for each application by using the toggle button next to the application.
If you want to remove an application from the list, click the icon next to the application in the Split Tunneling window.
The split tunneling functionality has the following limitations:
Split tunneling works only on Microsoft Windows 10 or later. If you upgrade an older operating system to these versions, you must reinstall Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection for the functionality to become available.
Split tunneling with antivirus applications. In this case, Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection will show an error message.
Split tunneling may affect TeamViewer operation. To work with TeamViewer, simply enable VPN without this function.
If a VPN connection is enabled, all applications, including those added to exclusions, will use the DNS of the VPN tunnel instead of the user's DNS.
DNS requests from applications in the list that are set to operate over VPN do not always pass through the DNS server the VPN tunnel. In certain cases DNS requests from an application may be sent outside the VPN tunnel.
VPN settings for selected applications are applied to the specified paths to the applications only. If a path is changed, for example if an application from the list is updated, the settings for selected applications will not be automatically applied to it.
