Configuring the application for use by a child

After Kaspersky Safe Kids is installed to a child's mobile device, the app must be configured. Once the child's device is configured, age restrictions and other protection settings will be applied.

The Initial Configuration Wizard helps to prepare the app on the child's mobile device. The Initial Configuration Wizard starts once at first startup of the app.

If you have finished the app configuration and would like to change your selection and configure Kaspersky Safe Kids for yourself to monitor children’s protection, you have to uninstall the app and then install the app again.

To prepare Kaspersky Safe Kids and turn on protection on the child's mobile device:

1. Start Kaspersky Safe Kids on the child's mobile device.

   The Initial Configuration Wizard starts.

2. Review the key features of the app and tap Continue.
3. Review the legal documents:
   • If you agree with their terms, tap Accept all.
   • If you disagree with their terms, tap Cancel.

     This cancels the configuration of the app.

4. Connect the child's device to the My Kaspersky portal:
   • To create a My Kaspersky account:
     1. Enter your credentials for signing in to My Kaspersky.
     2. Tap Sign In.
   • If you do not have a My Kaspersky account, do the following:
     1. Tap Create an account.
     2. Complete the registration process.

        Once the account has been created, a message with the account activation link is sent to the email address you specified.

     You can also create an account on My Kaspersky.

   The child's mobile device will be connected to the My Kaspersky portal.

5. Specify that this is a child's device.
6. Select the profile of the child who uses this mobile device:
   • If the child who uses this mobile device is in the list of children's profiles, select the child's profile.
   • If the list of children's profiles does not include the child who uses this mobile device, do the following:
     1. Tap Add child.
     2. Configure the settings of the child's profile: the child's photo, name, and year of birth.
     3. Tap OK.

     You can also create a list of children's profiles on My Kaspersky.

7. Tap Continue.
8. Agree to grant Kaspersky Safe Kids advanced permissions.
9. Follow the instructions on the screen to grant Kaspersky Safe Kids access to accessibility features.
10. If the Android 6.0 operating system is installed on your device, follow the instructions on the screen to grant Kaspersky Safe Kids access to system features.
11. Tap Start protection.

Kaspersky Safe Kids is ready to be used on the child's mobile device.
