Step 4. Selecting the program operating mode

At this step, you must select the operating mode of the program within the IT infrastructure of your organization.

Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway can run in normal mode or in certified mode.

In normal mode, the program is allowed to access the Internet and connect to the following servers located outside the IT infrastructure of your organization:

In certified mode, the program is not allowed to access the Internet or connect to servers located outside the IT infrastructure of your organization. In addition, when the program operates in certified mode, the administrator is not able to view the event log from the program administrator's menu.

In certified mode, the settings of program components that require Internet access take the following values by default:

To select the program operating mode:

  1. Select one of the following options for switching the program to certified mode:
    • No, if you do not want to switch the program to certified mode but instead want the program to operate in normal mode.
    • Yes, if you want to switch the program to certified mode.
  2. Press Enter.

The program Initial Configuration Wizard proceeds to the next step.
