Downloading upgrade packages

This functionality is available if the user has the Edit settings permission to upgrade the program on the Control node and Edit settings and Create/edit/delete nodes permissions to upgrade the program on the Secondary node.

Before upgrading Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway, you are strongly advised to make a backup copy of your Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway virtual machine (a snapshot of the virtual machine in the hypervisor) to be able to return to the previous version of Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway, if installation of the new version of Kaspersky Secure Mail Gateway fails.

To download an upgrade package and start its installation:

1. When updating the Control node, in the web interface window, select the Settings → General → Install patch section.

   When updating a Secondary node, in the web interface window, click Install patch.

2. Upload the previously downloaded update file to the program. To do so, either:
   • Drag and drop the update file to the highlighted area.
   • Click Browse, select the update file and click Open.

   The name of the uploaded file is displayed in the upload area.

3. Click the Upgrade button.
4. Follow the steps of the Upgrade Wizard.

   The steps of the Upgrade Wizard may vary depending on the type of upgrade.
