Upgrading the cluster to KSMG 2.1.1

To upgrade the application to version 2.1.1 in a cluster containing multiple nodes:

In the web interface of the Control node, go to the Nodes section and make sure that all cluster nodes are available and do not have errors.
If the cluster node is not accessible or has errors, resolve all issues before starting the update.

Install the update on one of the Secondary nodes.

To upgrade KSMG to version 2.1.1 on the first of the cluster nodes that you are upgrading:

Disable the reception of messages on the node being upgraded. For example, remove the load from the node in the load balancer settings.
In the table of messages in the queue, filter the messages by node then wait until messages from all queues are sent.
Install the update package in the format that matches your operating system:
- To install the RPM update package:
  rpm -U ksmg-2.1.1-8310.x86_64.rpm
- To install the DEB update package:
  dpkg -i ksmg_2.1.1-8310_amd64.deb
After the upgrade package is installed, the path to the setup.py upgrade script is displayed.

Install localization packages. The English localization is included in the application. If necessary, you can install multiple localization packages.

To install the RPM package of the Russian localization:
rpm -U ksmg_<localization package code>-2.1.1.8310-1.noarch.rpm
To install the DEB package of the Russian localization:
dpkg -i ksmg-l10n-<localization package code>-2.1.1.8310-1_all.deb

Upgrade the application using the upgrade script manually or automatically.
- Upgrading manually
  To upgrade the application manually:
  1. Run the upgrade script:
    /opt/kaspersky/ksmg/bin/setup.py --upgrade
    
    The upgrade script then takes you through a step-by-step KSMG configuration procedure, prompting you for information.
    
    To enter a default value suggested by the script, press Enter. To get help on the functions of the script, you can run the upgrade script with the --help option.
  2. Select the language in which you want to see the texts of the End User License Agreement and the Privacy Policy and press Enter.
  3. Carefully read the text of the End User License Agreement. To do so, press Enter. The text of the End User License Agreement is displayed. Use the arrow buttons to navigate the text. To exit the viewing mode, press q.
  4. Accept or reject the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement:
    - If you want to accept the terms of the End User License Agreement, type yes.
    - If you want to reject the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement, type no.
  5. Press Enter.
    If you reject the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement, the upgrade process is terminated, and KSMG version 2.1 remains in an inoperable condition.
    
    You can review the text of the End User License Agreement at any time. The file with the text of the End User License Agreement is located at the following path: /opt/kaspersky/ksmg/share/doc/LICENSE.<language>.
  6. View the text of the Privacy Policy. To do so, press Enter. The text of the Privacy Policy is displayed. Use the arrow buttons to navigate the text. To exit the viewing mode, press q.
  7. Accept or reject the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy:
    - If you want to accept the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy, type yes.
    - If you want to reject the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy, type no.
  8. Press Enter.
    If you reject the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy, the upgrade process is terminated, and KSMG version 2.1 remains in an inoperable condition.
    
    You can review the text of the Privacy Policy at any time. The file with the text of the Privacy Policy is located at the following path: /opt/kaspersky/ksmg/share/doc/LICENSE_privacy_policy.<language>.
  The upgrade script automatically configures the application using the settings of the node, web server, and mail server that were specified when configuring KSMG 2.1.
- Automatic upgrade (using a file with saved responses)
  The upgrade scenario in automatic mode involves the following steps:
  1. Creating a configuration file with responses to the prompts of the upgrade script
    This stage is performed only for the first node to be upgraded.
    
    To do so, run the following command:
    
    /opt/kaspersky/ksmg/bin/setup.py --create-auto-upgrade=<full path to the file for saving settings>
    
    You cannot create a configuration file with responses a node on which the application was upgraded manually.
  2. Editing the address of the node you are upgrading
    The configuration file with responses contains the network settings of the node on which the file is created. To upgrade KSMG on another node, you must manually edit the configuration file to replace the IP address of the current node with the IP address of the node that you want to upgrade. If necessary, you must also change the port numbers of the node.
  3. Starting the upgrade of KSMG in automatic mode
    To do so, run the following command:
    
    /opt/kaspersky/ksmg/bin/setup.py --auto-upgrade=<full path to the file with the saved settings>
In the web interface of the updated node, in the lower part of the left menu pane, click the name of the current user, then select About and in the displayed window, make sure that the Version line displays 2.1.1.
In the web interface of the updated node, click Change role to Control node.
In the web interface of the new Control node:
1. Update the databases.
2. If a connection with the LDAP server was configured, update the LDAP cache.
  If a LDAP server connection was not configured, synchronize with an Active Directory domain controller.
  1. In the application web interface window, select the Settings → External services → LDAP server connections section.
  2. Select the Synchronization settings tab.
  3. In the Schedule type drop-down list, select Manually.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Synchronize now.
If Kaspersky Security Center network agent was installed on the node, restart the network agent. For details, see the Kaspersky Security Center 15.1 Linux Help.
Turn on the reception of messages on the upgraded node.
Check if the messages can pass through the node. To do so, send a test message through the node and confirm if it was delivered to the recipient.

The KSMG application on the cluster node is upgraded to version 2.1.1.

After the upgrade, the node becomes inaccessible to other cluster nodes. In the web interface of this node, you need to assign it the role of the new Control node.

Install the update on each of the remaining Secondary nodes.
After the update, each Secondary Node will be accessible to the new Control Node and inaccessible to the old Control Node.

Install the update on the old Control node.

To upgrade KSMG to version 2.1.1 on the old Control node:

Disable the reception of messages on the node being upgraded. For example, remove the load from the node in the load balancer settings.
In the table of messages in the queue, filter the messages by node then wait until messages from all queues are sent.

    - If you want to reject the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy, type no.
  8. Press Enter.
    If you reject the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy, the upgrade process is terminated, and KSMG version 2.1 remains in an inoperable condition.

In the web interface of the updated node, in the lower part of the left menu pane, click the name of the current user, then select About and in the displayed window, make sure that the Version line displays 2.1.1.
In the web interface of the new Control node:
1. Update the databases.
2. If a connection with the LDAP server was configured, update the LDAP cache.
  If a LDAP server connection was not configured, synchronize with an Active Directory domain controller.

The KSMG application on the cluster node is upgraded to version 2.1.1.

Before installing the update, you must assign the Secondary node role to it in the web interface of this node.

As a result, all cluster nodes are upgraded to KSMG version 2.1.1 and are accessible from the new Control node.

If necessary, you can give back the Control node role to the node that previously was the Control node.
