Steps for installing the new version of the application

Installing the new version of the application involves the following steps:

1. Installing the additional software packages in accordance with the software requirements of KSMG
2. Installing Network Agent

   Perform this step if you need integration with Kaspersky Security Center for updating the KSMG databases.

3. Installing the packages of the new version of the application
4. Initial configuration of the application
5. Configuring the application in accordance with the role of the cluster node

   To configure the Control node of the cluster, you must sign in to the web interface with an administrator account, create a cluster, and configure the application. The Control node of the cluster must be the first to be installed and configured.

   To configure a Secondary node of the cluster (the second and subsequent nodes), add the node to the cluster using the web interface of the Control node. The application settings are automatically synchronized with the Secondary node.

   At this step, you must configure the following services:

   • System log service (rsyslog) — settings for storing and rotating application logs, settings for exporting events to an external SIEM system.
   • SNMP server service (snmpd) — for interaction with an external monitoring system via the SNMP protocol.
   • Local load balancer service (haproxy) — if you need high-availability interaction with KATA servers.
