Downloading upgrade packages

This functionality is available if the user has the Edit settings permission to update the program on the Control node and Edit settings and Create/edit/delete nodes permissions to update the program on the Secondary node.

Before upgrading KSMG, we strongly recommended to back up your KSMG virtual machine (make a snapshot of the virtual machine in the hypervisor) to be able to go back to the previous version of KSMG if the installation of the new KSMG version fails.

To download an upgrade package and start its installation:

1. When updating the Control node, in the web interface window, select the Settings → General → Install patch section.

   When updating a Secondary node, in the web interface window, click Install patch.

2. Upload the previously downloaded update file to the program. To do so, either:
   • Drag and drop the update file to the highlighted area.
   • Click Browse, select the update file and click Open.

   The name of the uploaded file is displayed in the upload area.

3. Click the Upgrade button.
4. Follow the steps of the Upgrade Wizard.

   The steps of the Upgrade Wizard may vary depending on the type of upgrade.
