How to set Kaspersky Small Office Security as your default anti-virus application

In the Windows 10 RS2 operating system, you can select the anti-virus application that is used by default. This anti-virus application is responsible for protecting your computer while the other anti-virus applications installed on your computer are switched to limited functionality mode or are disabled.

If you have not made Kaspersky Small Office Security your default anti-virus application, the application disables the following protection components:

The Kaspersky Small Office Security license remains active regardless of whether or not the application has been set as the default anti-virus application. After the license expires, Kaspersky Small Office Security checks for a new activation code. If a new activation code is available, the application automatically uses it to renew the license, regardless of whether or not the application has been set as the default anti-virus application.

After it is installed and started for the first time in the Windows 10 RS2 operating system, the application will notify you if it is not the default anti-virus application. You can set Kaspersky Small Office Security as your default anti-virus application.

To set Kaspersky Small Office Security as your default anti-virus application:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • In the main application window, click the Resume protection button.
    • In the taskbar notification area, in the context menu of the application icon, select Resume protection.
    • Enable one of the protection components that are disabled.

    This opens a window in which you can select the default anti-virus application.

  2. Select Kaspersky Small Office Security as the default anti-virus application.

Kaspersky Small Office Security will become the default anti-virus application and will enable its protection components.
