Kaspersky created a special version of the application for residents of the U.S. state of California. If you are a resident of the U.S. state of California, you need to download and install this version of the application.
The following new features and improvements are introduced in Kaspersky Small Office Security:
Added support for Microsoft Windows 11.
Added support for Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 5.
Added a post-installation chat with the user to provide an introduction to the functionality of the application (except the server version).
Updated visual design of the application.
Old "How it works" interface windows have been removed because of a new implementation.
New sections added: Security, Performance, Privacy.
Added a Recommendations section with tips for the user.
The File Shredder feature has been renamed in some localizations.
The "Storing data in data vaults" feature has been renamed to Secret Vault.
The Application Control feature has been renamed to Intrusion Prevention.
The Web Anti-Virus feature has been renamed to Safe Browsing.
Installation Assistant has been renamed to Unwanted App Installation Blocker.
New Current Activity block has been added, which lets you view the history of application events and user activity.
The windows for connecting to Kaspersky Security Network and configuring Kaspersky Security Network have been merged.
The Data Leak Checker component now also checks for data leaks to Darknet.
Added support for the new BypassIO technology by Microsoft.
In Do not Disturb Mode, application update notifications are no longer displayed.
The URL Advisor functionality now includes two new link categories.
Removed the capability to search for vulnerabilities in the operating system.
Limited support for the old Microsoft Edge browser. This browser no longer supports Secure Data Input and Protected Browser. You continue to be protected during Traffic scanning.
Discontinued support for the Kaspersky Protection extension in the Internet Explorer browser.
Removed the ability to save backups to a FTP server.
Introduced the Browser Configuration functionality.
Kaspersky Small Office Security 6:
The Application Manager component no longer provides the System Changes Control feature for monitoring operating system settings.
The Web Policy Management component no longer provides control of messaging on social networks.
The following features have been removed from the Anti-Spam component:
Integration with Microsoft Office Outlook and Outlook Express.
Management of a custom spam database.
Scans of messages transmitted over the Exchange MAPI protocol.
Addition of a sender's address to the list of allowed addresses during Anti-Spam training.
Actions upon detection of spam messages: move, copy, delete, and ignore.
