About the master password

A master password is a single password used to restrict access to Kaspersky Password Manager online storage data from any device of a user.

The master password is created when Kaspersky Password Manager is first started on any of the user's devices. When the application is subsequently started on this device or on other devices, the previously created master password must be entered.

If it is forgotten, the master password cannot be restored. The online storage data protected by this master password will be lost.

The master password must be entered in the following cases:

The master password can contain numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters in any of the supported alphabets, and special characters.

Kaspersky Lab recommends using a master password that is at least eight characters long and contains uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
