Starting and stopping a custom scan

To start a custom scan of files on the computer:

  1. In the main application window, click the Custom Scan button.

    The Custom Scan window opens.

  2. Select objects to scan in one of the following ways:
    • Drag the required files and folders into the Custom scan window.
    • Click the New scan button. In the File Explorer window, select one or more files that you want to scan and click the Open button.

The application will start scanning your selected objects for threats. During the scan an indicator displays the scan progress. The intermediary results of the scan are also displayed. Custom scan objects are displayed as a list in the Custom scan window. You can work with elements in the list as follows:

  • If you want to see where an object is located, select the required element in the list and click the link with the name of the object to open the containing folder.
  • If you want to view detailed information about problems detected during a custom scan, select the required element in the list and click the link with the scan results.

A window opens with a list of problems: for example, a list of files that the application was unable to scan.

  • If you want to save a scan report on the computer, select the relevant element in the list and click the Download report button button.

You can save a custom scan report until you stop the application.

  • If you want to rescan an object, select the required element in the list and click the Rescan button button.
  • If you want to delete an object from the list, select the required element in the list and click the Delete button button.

The element is deleted from the list, but the object itself is not deleted.

To stop a custom scan,

click the Stop scan button button to the right of the scan progress indicator.

If you want to pause a scan, click the Pause scan button button to the right of the scan progress indicator. You can resume the scan from the same place by clicking the Resume scan button button to the right of the scan progress indicator.
