Expanding the scan scope
Expanding the scan scope
Kaspersky Security Scan scans the following areas and objects:
- System memory
- Autorun objects
- Objects in which threats were detected earlier
- Objects located on your desktop and in other important areas
If necessary, you can expand the computer scan scope.
To expand the scan scope:
- In the main application window, click the Settings link.
The Settings window opens.
- In the Settings window, open the Scan section.
- In the Computer scan settings section, select the Use deep scan level (scanning may take longer) check box.
This check box is cleared by default.
The scope of the scan that Kaspersky Security Scan is performing will be expanded.
The expanded computer scan scope includes hard and removable drives connected to your computer, including backup storage. Moreover, the application will scan files stored in any detected archives that have not been protected with a password.
Regardless of the scan scope, Kaspersky Security Scan does not scan mail format files or password-protected archives.
