Configuring the application to work with a proxy server

To connect to the Internet though a proxy server, you may need to configure Kaspersky Software Updater for use with a proxy server.

To configure the application to work with a proxy server:

  1. Click the Settings button button in the lower left corner of the main application window.

    The Settings window opens.

  2. Click the Proxy server settings link in the lower left corner of the window to open the Proxy server settings window.
  3. Configure the application to work with a proxy server:
    • If you do not want the connection to use a proxy server, select Do not use proxy server.
    • If you want the proxy server settings to be detected automatically, select Automatically detect proxy server settings.

      If the proxy server uses authentication, enter the credentials in the User name and Password fields.

    • If you want the application to use proxy server settings that you specify, select Use specified proxy server settings and specify the following settings:
      • In the Proxy server address field, specify the IP address or domain name of the proxy server.
      • In the Port field, specify the port number for the connection with the proxy server.

        The default port number is 8080.

      • If the proxy server uses authentication, select the Use proxy server authentication check box and specify the account credentials in the User name and Password fields.
  4. To save changes, click the Save button.

The application will use the proxy server in accordance with the settings.
