Connecting Light Agent to SVM

To ensure proper operation of the application, the Light Agent installed on the virtual machine must be connected to an SVM with the Protection Server installed.

The scanning of files that need to be scanned according to protection settings and during scan task is performed on the Protection Server. Light Agent sends files to the Protection Server for scanning after connecting to SVM. If Light Agent isn't connected to a single SVM, the Protection Server does not scan the SVM's files. If Light Agent loses a connection to an SVM for more than 5 minutes while running scan tasks, the scan tasks are paused and return an error.

To connect to an SVM, Light Agent must receive information about the SVMs to which a connection can be made. After SVM discovery, Light Agent selects the optimal SVM to which a connection can be established according to the SVM selection algorithm.

Please keep in mind that the application functionality available under an enterprise license is available on a Light Agent only if the Light Agent is connected to an SVM on which the key for the enterprise license was added. If the Light Agent is disconnected from this SVM and connects to an SVM on which a key for a standard license was added, some of the application functionality on the Light Agent will become unavailable.
