Requirements for the server on which Kaspersky Security for Windows Server is deployed

Before installing Kaspersky Security for Windows Server, you must uninstall other anti-virus applications from the server.

Before installing Kaspersky Security for Windows Server, you must uninstall Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Windows Servers Enterprise Edition. You can install Kaspersky Security for Windows Server without uninstalling Kaspersky Security 10 for Windows Server.

Hardware requirements for the server

General requirements:

• x86/64-compatible single-core or multi-core systems
• disk space requirements:
  • for installing all application components: 100 MB
  • for downloading and storing anti-virus databases: 2 GB (recommended)
  • for storing objects in Quarantine and in Backup: 400 MB (recommended)
  • for storing logs: 1 GB (recommended)

Minimum configuration:

• Processor: 1.4 GHz single-core
• RAM: 1 GB
• Disk: 4 GB of free space

Recommended configuration:

• Processor: 2.4 GHz quad-core
• RAM: 2 GB
• Disk: 4 GB of free space

Software requirements for the server

You can install Kaspersky Security for Windows Server on a server running a 32-bit or 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating system.

For installation and operation of Kaspersky Security for Windows Server, Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 must be installed on the server.

You can install Kaspersky Security for Windows Server on a server running one of the following 32-bit Microsoft Windows operating systems:

• Windows Server 2003 Standard / Enterprise / Datacenter SP2 or later
• Windows Server 2003 R2 Foundation / Standard / Enterprise / Datacenter SP2 or later
• Windows Server 2008 Standard / Enterprise / Datacenter SP1 or later
• Windows Server 2008 Core Standard / Enterprise / Datacenter SP1 or later

You can install Kaspersky Security for Windows Server on a server running one of the following 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating systems:

Before installing Kaspersky Security for Windows Server on Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2003 R2, please download the KB2868626 update and install it.

The following operating systems are no longer supported by Microsoft Windows: Windows Server 2003 Standard / Enterprise / Datacenter SP2, Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard / Enterprise / Datacenter SP2 32-bit, 64-bit. Kaspersky’s technical support of servers running these operating systems may be limited.

Kaspersky Endpoint Agent does not support any version of Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.
