Configuring Anti-Phishing module settings

To configure the Anti-Phishing module settings:

  1. In the application web interface window, select the SettingsGeneralProtection settings section.
  2. In the Anti-Phishing settings group, use the Use heuristic analysis toggle switch to enable or disable the use of heuristic analysis when scanning network traffic for signs of phishing.
  3. Use the Mark adware links as malicious toggle switch to enable or disable detection of adware links.

The function of adware is to display advertising information to the user. They display banner ads in the interfaces of other applications and redirect search queries to advertising web pages. Some varieties of adware collect marketing information about the user and send it to the developer. This marketing information may include the names of the websites that are visited by the user or the content of the user's search queries. Unlike Trojan spy programs, adware programs send this information to the developer with the user's permission.

If the toggle switch is enabled, the application marks these links as malicious and processes them according to the settings defined for malicious links.

  4. Use the Mark links related to some legitimate applications as malicious toggle switch to enable or disable detection of links associated with specific legitimate applications.

Legitimate applications could be exploited by hackers to harm a user's computer or data. Although they do not have any specifically malicious functions, these applications can be used as an auxiliary component in malware.

If the toggle switch is enabled, the application marks these links as malicious and processes them according to the settings defined for malicious links.

  5. In the Maximum scanning time (s) field, specify the time limit (in seconds) for scanning objects in network traffic to detect phishing.

    The default setting is 120.

  6. Click Save.

The Anti-Phishing module settings will be configured.
