The tables below describe methods of activating the MDR solution in Kaspersky applications for the following licenses:

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows

The MDR solution can be activated with an MDR configuration (BLOB) file.

The MDR solution can only operate when the KPSN configuration file is installed in the Kaspersky Security Center.

12.6–12.8

Apply an activation code to activate the MDR solution:

  • If you do not use and have never created MDR tenants, using an MDR configuration (BLOB) file is not required.
  • If you use MDR tenants, you must install an MDR configuration (BLOB) file, even it has expired.

To activate both the Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum solution and the MDR solution, apply the activation code for Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum and an MDR configuration (BLOB) file for the MDR solution.

The application supports MDR usage with and without a KPSN configuration file.

To use the MDR solution without a KPSN configuration file, specify the activation code even if you have an MDR configuration (BLOB) file deployed.

When you already have MDR configuration (BLOB) files installed on your assets, and the MDR solution was activated before January 2024, you need to re-download and re-install BLOB files:

  1. Download the MDR configuration (BLOB) file for the required tenant in MDR Web Console.
  2. Configure the policy to install the BLOB file on your assets.
