To improve the security of your account, you can set up two-step verification. When this feature is enabled, no one will be able to sign in to your account unless they use your password and a one-time security code sent to your mobile phone number or generated in your authenticator app.
After you set up two-step verification, you are responsible for keeping your mobile phone physically secure and for maintaining access to your phone number. If you lose access to your phone number, you might not be able to sign in to your account on Kaspersky Account. We recommend that you also set up an authenticator app on a device other than your mobile phone. This will allow you to sign in to your account and use the Anti-Theft features if your mobile phone is lost or stolen.
At the current time, authenticator apps cannot be used on Kaspersky Account as a standalone authentication method. You must first set up two-step verification via your mobile phone number. If you turn off two-step verification via your mobile phone number, the authentication via an authenticator app is turned off automatically. After you have set up both authentication via SMS and via an app, you will be able to select an authentication method on the sign-in page.
To set up two-step verification via your authenticator app:
Download and install an authenticator app on your device. You can find the list of app examples here.
We recommend that you set up an authenticator app also on a device different from your mobile phone. This will allow you to sign in to your account and use the Anti-Theft features if your mobile phone is lost or stolen.
On the bottom of the page, click the Enable authenticator app link.
Add your Kaspersky Account account in your authenticator app by scanning the provided QR code or entering the secret key manually. Please use your in-app instructions for more information.
Enter a 6-digit security code generated by the app.
Your app is set up. You can use security codes generated in the app on the Kaspersky Account sign-in page.
