Adding a question to the knowledge test

To add a question to the Knowledge Test:

  1. Open the knowledge test edit window:
    • In the Main Course:
      1. In the Contents section of the application's web interface, select the Main Course tab.
      2. In the top panel of the workspace, select the topic you want to change the knowledge test for.

You can select the material level using the up and down arrows.

      3. In the Knowledge test section, click the name of the test.
      4. In the window that opens, click the Edit test button.
    • In Express Courses:
      1. In the Contents section of the application's web interface, select the Express Course tab.
      2. On the card of the topic you need, click the menu icon and select Edit test from the pop-up menu.

You can also open the knowledge test window from the topic viewer by selecting the Knowledge test tab and clicking the Edit test button.

The Knowledge Test edit window will open. The selected question is displayed in the central part of the window. In the left part of the window, the knowledge test is displayed: a list of all questions added to the test for the selected language.

  2. In the Language: <language> drop-down list, select the language you want to change the knowledge test for.
  3. Click the Add question button, select the type of question to add (see below), and then specify the rest of the question data:
    • Question type — available question types:
      • One correct answer — among several answer options, only one is correct.
      • Several correct answers — multiple answers may be correct.
      • Answer order — the user needs to arrange the answers to the question in the correct order.
    • Task — in this field, you need to describe what the user needs to do. For example, choose the correct answer, select all the incorrect answers, or arrange the answers in a specific order.
    • Question — the text of the question.
    • Answers — options for answering the question. The answer can be added using the Add answer button or deleted using the trash can icon.

      Indicate the correct answer:

      • For the One correct answer and Multiple correct answer question types, click the icon at the beginning of the correct answer.
      • For the Answer order question type, arrange the answers in the correct order by dragging and dropping them behind the icon order icon.

For the user, answers will be displayed in a random order.

    • Feedback — in this section, you can praise the user for a correct answer (in the Correct answer section) or explain why the chosen option is incorrect (in the Incorrect answer section).

If needed, you can enter just one explanation for the answer: add it in the Correct answer section, then select the Duplicate text in incorrect answer checkbox.

    • Show question — this checkbox can be used to hide the question. Then it will remain in the question bank, but will never be shown to users in the test.

The question can also be hidden by clicking the eye icon of the required question in the contents.

    • Mandatory question — Use this checkbox to highlight important questions. Mandatory questions are always shown to users in the test.

You can also make a question mandatory by clicking the star icon in the content of the required question.

Repeat this step to add all the required questions for the selected language.

Using the menu menu, which is displayed when you hover your mouse over questions in the Contents, questions can be copied and (if they're not default questions) deleted.

  4. Click the Save button.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all languages and questions that you want to add to the Knowledge Test.

Your new questions have been added to the Knowledge Test.
