Manually changing the statuses of devices

This section contains instructions on changing device status. Only users with the Administrator role can change device statuses.

You can change the status (to Authorized, Unauthorized, or Archived) for one selected device or for multiple selected devices at once. If you are changing the status of one selected device, you can enable or disable automatic status changes to Archived for that device.

Cisco Switch connectors may automatically restrict network access for devices that have a status of Unauthorized. To avoid blocking necessary devices due to status changes, check the settings you defined for this connector type.

The application automatically changes the status of an Archived device if it shows activity. Depending on the current asset management mode, the application assigns a status of either Authorized or Unauthorized to the detected device.
